Don Fancher Outstanding Educator
Nominee must be a member of MAACCE at time of nomination and have served a minimum of five years in adult, continuing, or community education.
Distinguished Service Award
Nominee must be a member of MAACCE at time of nomination and have served a minimum of ten years or more in the field.
Special Achievement Award
Nominee must be a member of MAACCE at the time of nomination. Please include the date and a description of special achievement.
Award of Merit
Nominee does not have to be a MAACCE member. Nominee may be an agency, business, school district, college, or individual that has contributed to or supported adult education in one of the following ways:
Newcomer Award
Nominee must be a member of MAACCE at the time of nomination and have been a member of MAACCE for less than five years.
Development Fund Award
The MAACCE Development Fund was established as the result of a challenge made at the 1995 MVAEA/MAACCE Conference by Howard and Eunice Hovland of South Dakota. Based on the success of the Missouri Valley Adult Education Association Development Fund, the Hovlands offered a $500 startup donation to any state association beginning a similar fund- The MAACCE Board voted to establish a fund and appropriated matching startup funds. The donation from the Hovlands was received later that year.
The MAACCE Development Fund Award is designed to provide MAACCE members with the opportunity to undertake a special project with some financial support for expenses. The award may be used by itself or in combination with other resources.
The Development Fund Committee will select the application to receive the award and it will be awarded by the MAACCE Board at the 20O6 MAACCE Conference, Only MAACCE members are eligible to apply. Two $1,000 grants may be awarded in 2007.
The project must be completed prior to the 2008 MAACCE conference. Results of the project must be shared in a concurrent session at that conference and a written report must be submitted. Recipients may receive up to half the payment prior to the 2008 conference and full payment of the award will follow completion of project, presentation of the project at a concurrent session, and submission of the written report.
The deadline for all nominations is March 1, 2008.
